Ladbrokes Hates Waffles and Chocolate

Thursday, October 21st, 2010

Ladbrokes strangely announced that they will no longer be accepting registrations for people in Belgium today.  In a letter to affiliates, Ladbrokes gave no reason why they are pulling out of Belgium, so we have to assume it has to do with the impeding gambling law legislation that is set to go in effect on January 1st, 2011.  The law is designed to set up a gambling licensing type system, similar to Italy and France.  Though it has been debated whether or not the law to be introduced complies with EU law (as there are some stipulations on companies that can receive licenses), many lobbyist groups are set up to argue this new legislation citing the ruling in the Austrian Engelmann case.

In the meantime if players from Belgium are looking for a new place to play, then check out one of our best online casinos page.

For those interested, here is the letter that went out to affiliates of Ladbrokes:

Dear Partner,

Ladbrokes no longer accepts registrations from customers residing in Belgium.  We will keep you updated of any changes to this policy.

Please get in touch if you have any questions.

Kind Regards

Gambling Plus High Fantasy Equals…

I’ll be the first to admit my nerd status; I’m not ashamed that I squealed a little inside when I heard about this. The Lord of the Rings is being made into an online slot game by Microgaming. Two of the biggest online casinos will offer an exclusive chance to see the epic slot game, and if you register soon, you’ll get a chance to see the game up close and win some fantastic prizes. So run, swift as the Nazgul flies, to register at:

- All Slots Casino
All Slots are offering a £200/$200 welcome bonus if you open an account today.

- Ladbrokes Casino
Ladbrokes are offering £100/$100 to new players who open an account today using bonus code MAXIMUMBONUS

Microgaming are the company behind the massively successful Thunderstruck 2 slots game. The company has a fantastic track record of producing cutting-edge, graphic-rich video slots using it’s world class casino software and the Lord of the Rings slots game looks set to impress fans of the movie and of online casino games, coming off the back of the hugely successive Thunderstruck 2, which since it’s launch has been one of Microgaming’s most popular slot games to date.

Microgaming have been granted permission to develop online video slot games using animation material, themes and characters from the The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring, The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers and The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King, with all three titles being converted into online slot games to be played at the two online casinos mentioned above.
The trilogy has taken £3 billion worldwide at the box office and has won a massive SEVENTEEN Academy Awards. Can the slot franchise start giving some of those riches back to the people? Let’s hope so, I’m almost out of pipeweed!
